A class series for noticing what refuses to be overlooked.
SALIENT is an art-and-inquiry series for children and teens. Each class begins with a detail: an object, image, material, question, memory, or contradiction that asks for closer attention. From there, we draw, write, build, research, collect, and make.
This is not about producing the "right" artwork. It is about learning to recognize significance — and trusting that what catches your attention may be the beginning of a larger idea.

02 Onus
What is ours to notice, nourish, understand, and shape?
ONUS is a learning framework for children, families, and educators who want to make meaning with more agency and care. It begins with a question: what is our place in the stories we inherit — and what is ours to do within them?
Inspired by Kieran Egan's view that education comes alive through powerful, emotionally resonant stories, ONUS asks learners to enter those stories as participants, not merely recipients. Science, history, art, technology, mathematics, and everyday life become connected human attempts to understand the world.
Children use oral storytelling, imagination, drawing, research, bodily experience, and making to explore the forces, tensions, and possibilities within a subject — learning not only what happened or how something works, but why it matters, and how they might respond.

A gathering for making, eating, and meeting beyond the usual script.
Come alone, with a child, with a collaborator, or with a question. AT THE SAME TABLE brings people together around food, materials, and prompts that make conversation easier to begin.
We might draw with juice-stained hands, break seed bread, trade stories, make small editions, or build a shared map of what nourishes us.
No one needs to be an artist. No one needs to know anyone. You only need to meet at the same table.
